Consultation opportunities

Consultation is extremely important to ngage and we work hard to ensure that residents are given the best opportunity to become involved in key decisions affecting their community or Thurrock as a borough. We work closely with Council departments and partners such as the police, Primary Care Trust etc...... to ensure that they follow good practice when consulting communities and more importantly are listening to what the community says.

Results from latest consultation opportunities

"Your New Community Hospital in Thurrock"  Is to find out the views of Thurrock residents on what clinical services you would like to see at the hospital, and what extra services could be provided  within the hospital.  ended 14 September.  Final Report will be made available soon.

"Your Community You Voice" - This consultation finished on 8th July 2009..  the report from this consultation will be uploaded soon! Final Report can be viewed here

"Your ideas are needed to bring better Youth& Community facilities to Aveley" this consultation finished on 31st July.  The Final Report can be viewed here

 
The  Principles for Community engagement have been developed by the Community Involvement Board to ensure that this happens.There are many opportunities for people to be able to influence local decision making and the following links have been designed to support  this 

Thurrock Council have consultation opportunities on  to enable residents to take part in a number of consultations that are currently taking place. There is also the opportunity to look back on previous consultations to ensure that residents involvement and input has been effective or will make a difference.

South West Essex PCT have established a Local Involvement Network (LINks) which gives residents the opportunity to give communities a stronger voice in how health and social care services in Thurrock. Residents will be given the opportunity to help shape and monitor and influence the purchasing of services that they receive.

Essex Police have developed Neighbourhood Action Panels (NAPS) via the Community Forum public meetings. They are given the community the opportunity to raise 3 priorities that they would link e to see tackled and can monitor the progress via the Neighbourhood policing websites or by attending the Forum meetings. They also work very closely with the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector to ensure that their priorities are those that are coming from the community themselves and that more importantly they are feeding back on how they are working with partners to ensure that Thurrock is a safer place to live in.

Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation is currently consulting on their master plans for Thurrock. it is important that communities are aware of their local plans and more importantly or taking part and having their say. The plans can be viewed on http://www.thurrocktgdc.org.uk/
