Safe Guarding Children's Board
At the end of 2004 the Government passed legislation which demanded that local councils, including Thurrock, along with their partners (police, health, Connexions among others) get together and set up Local Safeguarding Children Boards (or LSCBs) no later than 1st April 2006. The Thurrock LSCB was created on 7th December 2005.
The purpose of the LSCB is to look at what all those adults who work with children are doing to ensure that children are kept safe and to ensure that all those organisations that employ people to work with children have in place policies that are effective in keeping children safe. A number of large public and voluntary organisations have signed up to be part of the Thurrock LSCB. Click here for more information.
